The 16-year-old Filipino junior tennis player Francis Casey “Niño” Alcantara and partner 17-year-old Taiwanese Cheng-Peng Hsieh beat Mikhal Biryukov of Russia and Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan, 6-4, 6-2, in the final match to win the title in the Australian Open 2009 Junior Doubles in Melbourne, Australia.
Alcantara, a fourth year high school Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro is the first Filipino to win a title in one of tennis’ four major tournaments.
