From monumento to baclaran
I don't know why I went to Monumento in the first place
Maybe I wanted to drown myself in the ruckus of the crowd
Blind myself in the explosive colors of all the merchandise available

Time to rush to work
I got on the bus and silently prayed for safety

And I braced myself for the onslaught of either lovesongs or hiphop music
it turned out to be the former
The familiar strains of the opening chords of a Mr. Big song affirmed my fears that this wasn't going to be a good ride. I wanted to avoid things that would remind me of what I had just lost but it seemed like I'd be trapped inside this behemoth, forced to stew in my misery.
These words really struck a nerve and I was tempted to get off the bus but I just didn't have the time to wait for another one
